About This Wiki

From ILTA Wiki

Origins

ILTA is the global leader in producing educational content about legal technology. But making that content easily available to its members has been a perennial challenge. Improving access to content, in a way that satisfies the members' needs, is a key component of ILTA's Strategic Plan.

In 2024, "Project Find-It" made searching the ILTA website and ILTA's collection of materials easier. However, enterprise search cannot be the only mechanism for surfacing content. Every piece of ILTA content is informed by its context, and an item in a list of search results does not have the same value as that same item placed alongside other relevant information.

Vision

The ILTA Wiki will be a human-curated showcase of the best information ILTA has to offer. Edited by a large group of volunteer subject matter experts, it will bring together accumulated knowledge on a variety of legaltech topics, ranging from broad concepts to point solutions. It will distill the key points from multiple content forms and provide links back to the original source material. It will provide navigational aids to allow the reader go from the big picture to fine detail, or vice versa, or to move laterally between related but distinct topics.

Organization

How the wiki pages will be organized is an open question, and one that will be decided by a Steering Committee (to start) and an Editorial Board (on an ongoing basis). See Wiki Design Thoughts for some early ideas about how this site could/should be constructed.
